Issue 23

A place where textiles and homeware are made with human hands. Where childhood memories, the natural world and my love of colour combine to create lifelong textiles.

3 things you always have in the fridge

Cherry Tomatoes, me and my daughter are obsessed with snacking on them.

Aloe Vera Gel. It’s great for sunburn, chicken pox, heat rash and massages.

Cheese

When life is really busy, how do you carve space to maintain peace?

Cold water swimming! at my local lido straight after school drop off. As the water is so cold it forces you to clear your mind and just concentrate on your breath and body scanning. You can only safely spend 5/8 minutes in the water so it quick and incredibly effective.

I also wake up extra early, 6am, sometimes 5.30 so I can stretch and have some quiet time before the chaos of kids and work.

How do you take your coffee and how many a day?

Cappuccino, cows milk, no chocolate.

Some days 1, some days 3. It changes drastically depending on if I’m at home printing, on set shooting or at meetings.

Desert island Beauty item

Oskia Renaissance cleaning gel.

I’ve been obsessed with this product for years. I use it daily to clean my face but also as my product for face massages which I do 2/3 times a week. Beauty always starts with your skincare choices. No amount of expensive foundation will cover skin that isn’t properly cared for.

What is your ultimate indulgence that makes you more productive

Taking a morning off to stomp around the Heath with friends or have a chat over coffee. Spending time with my friends gets me out of my own mind and leaves me feeling so much more positive and excited about what’s possible.

Top 3 apps

Audible - When I’m printing I listen to books and podcasts religiously.

Deliciously Ella’s app.  - Its super cheap and has amazing Yoga and Meditation videos on it.

Flowkey - A Piano learning app. I’m dyslexic and find reading music extremely hard but this app shows someone playing the notes so I can memorise it.

What does wellness look like to you?

Walking around the heath, cold water swimming, listening to books, silence.

I need time alone every week to feel good.

Thank you so much Nic!
